Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu). Our team welcomes you and transfers
you to the hotel. In the evening, attend a Yatra briefing and orientation covering route details,
health guidelines, and document verification. Use the evening to shop for any essentials and
prepare for your journey ahead.
Overnight: Kathmandu | Meals: Dinner
After breakfast, visit Pashupatinath Temple, Guhyeshwari Temple, and Budanilkantha
(‘Sleeping Vishnu’) for darshan and blessings. After lunch, start the scenic drive towards the
Nepal-China border, passing green valleys and mountain villages. This day also helps your body
begin adjusting to higher altitudes.
Drive: 7–8 hours Overnight: Syabrubesi / Tatopani | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After completing immigration formalities at Rasuwagadhi Border, cross into Tibet and continue
the drive to Kerung, your first night on Tibetan soil. Enjoy beautiful views of gorges and pine
forests en route. Spend the rest of the day resting and acclimatizing.

A stunning drive through mountain passes and along the Brahmaputra River brings you to Saga,
the gateway to Mount Kailash. The landscape changes dramatically — vast plains, snowy peaks,
and turquoise lakes dot the horizon.
Drive: 6–7 hours Overnight: Saga | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Spend the day at leisure to help your body adjust to the higher altitude. You may take light
walks, meditate, or explore the quiet Tibetan town. This rest day is vital before proceeding to
Mansarovar.

Drive across the high-altitude plains to reach the sacred Lake Mansarovar, one of the most
revered lakes in Asia. On arrival, take part in ritual bathing and prayers along the lake’s edge.
The view of Mount Kailash rising in the distance is unforgettable. Spend the evening in quiet
reflection.
Drive: 6–7 hours Overnight: Mud House near Lake Mansarovar | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch,
Dinner
Wake up early for sunrise at Lake Manasarovar. After performing rituals and taking holy water,
drive to Darchen, the base town for the Kailash Kora (circumambulation). Use the evening for
rest and last-minute preparations for the trek.
Drive: 2–3 hours Overnight: Darchen | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
The Parikrama begins! Today’s trek follows the Yam Dwar route and winds through the
Tarboche Valley with the first majestic view of Mount Kailash’s north face. Reach Dirapuk
Monastery, nestled below the sacred peak.
Trek: 13 km | 5–6 hours Overnight: Dirapuk (Mud House) Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
This is the most challenging yet spiritually rewarding day. Ascend to Dolma La Pass, the
highest point of the Yatra. After offering prayers, descend past Gauri Kund, the sacred emerald
lake. Continue trekking to Zuthulpuk Monastery.
Trek: 22 km | 8–9 hours Overnight: Zuthulpuk (Mud House) Meals: Breakfast, Lunch,
Dinner
Complete the final stretch of the Parikrama as you trek back to Darchen, marking the end of
your sacred circuit around Mount Kailash. After a brief rest and lunch, drive back to Saga
retracing the scenic route. The feeling of accomplishment is indescribable.

Drive back towards the Nepal border, cross immigration formalities, and continue your journey
to Kathmandu. Relax at your hotel and celebrate the successful completion of your Yatra.

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your return flight home, carrying with
you memories of a lifetime and blessings from Mount Kailash.
